Has anyone replaced the thermostat housing seal without renewing the pump drive belt?
I have a pesky leak on the seal (not the main thermostat cover seal, which is relatively easy) but the pump/thermostat seal. The erwin manual describes a mind-numbing procedure which requires a 'second mechanic'; maintaining 30nm torque on the pump; not holding the torque wrench with the other hand; etc.; etc.; etc;.
Is it really so bad?
