If you are planning to change the engine go for an m50 from an e36. Fits straight in, lots of people have done it and there is a ton of info on the net
yeh at some stage Im planning on doing the M44 from the 318ti along with front/rear subframes. Aparently it bolts straight in

it does. The 318ti is half e30. See if you can get the front and rear hubs off it, they bolt on to the e30 and give you 5 stud wheels. so many more options than stupid 4 stud

YouTube BMW e30 v8 dyno. That's my old touring which I wish I brought back.
    Specs:
    635csi leather Recaro seats
    E30m3 5 stud conversion
BMW system II WHEELS WITH DUSTBIN LIDS 17x8/9 et 24/15
    m60b40 plus manual box from a 740
    Full racing dynamics body kit
    Blistein b8 shocks with H&R -40 springs
    Fake suade interior
    Smoked lights f/r
3.15 lsd diff, though had 4.1 in there at one stage which made 1st and half of 2nd useless!

Used to keep blowing driveshafts until someone told me that the z3 diff swap needs the e30 flanges!

Other wheels I had were Rondell 058- a kind of BBS knock off but 17x9.5 et 10 all round and Racing Dynamics 17x8/9 et23.

I miss that car! Would play tag with porches on the m1 and have a blast!

    Hi all,

I also daily an e30: 325i. It is an absolutely awesome car, very reliable, although, similarly to balkanac, I have also had many of the old parts replaced with new (again, nothing you would not expect to eventually wear out on a nearly 25-year-old car). The car is 100% stock except the Bilstein sport shocks with Eibach lowering springs, Z3 shifter and some cosmetic mods. It came from the factory with sport leather seats and all the power options (electric sunroof, mirrors, windows, etc.) Here are some pics:

    - Mk2 Golf GTI 16v, 2-door, Tornado Rot, BBS RS, 1988 - SOLD
    - E30 325i Coupe, Manual, Alpinweiss
    - E30 325i Touring, Manual, Diamantschwarz x 2
    - On the lookout for another E30 325i Coupe, Manual (red would be nice)...

    Nice Dom.

I had to retro fit electric windows and front fogs into my old 318is. But once done plus the addition of the front lower spoiler I was happy, never got around to updating the suspension. If only I could fit it again.

    My weekend fun toy:

The GTD has better low down torque (no great surprise there) but there's no comparison for top end power (again, no great surprise there).

The GTD is easy to drive quickly, but it gets loose at the limit. When I'm heading out for a fun drive through the hills, there is no contest.
