    Audi 100 Avant

Just found this picture of my old Audi, now resident in Melbourne I believe.
It was a 1985 100 Avant (Wagon) Manual, imported from the Uk. Absolutely great car of the highway. Would cruise all day att 120 with five adults and a full boot. And you can get that boot very full believe me.

I think that 200 of these wagons came here and most were auto, any one else got one?

    Audi cd100

Loon, I just went out and bought 2 audi cd100's one of them a 79 mod the other 85 for $200 bucks the 79 mod is running motor sounds good it's got aircond/pwrwindows/pwrsteer/veluer seats mind the spelling as i've never had to write veluer b4/ auto box and everythink works few minor spots of surface rust and a few a bit deeper but overall i think i'll register it next week as a daily driver as the mk1 16v can sit in the garage till i can sort out what's wrong with it.
The other one the 85 mod looks imaculate as if it was a late mod it's also got power everythink, new tyres, tow bar, power sunroof etc. Only thing is it needs a head gasket, power steer pump seal and a water pump, think the pump went, over heated and done a gasket motor still running though, hopefully can replace the gaskt, pump and do the seal at home just depends how much the bits are as to how long it takes me.
Should be good though going off what you've said about the wagon can't wait to take the 85 mod for a drive as it's luxury inside.
Paint on them both are vvgood.
Turned up thinking i was going to see 2 pieces of **** end up buying two what i think are nice cars 85 mod i'm sure running would probably sell for about 5-6 grand though i'm not looking to make money on them good to know i got good value. I HOPE :!:
I know i'm raving on but haven't bought a car for a few years of any type.
Also anyone got any idea of were i can get parts new and old.
Namly the bits i mentioned earlier.
    Cheers Dave
Hope i haven't bored you to much.

Welcome to the Audi 100 club!

Yeah..superb cars. Pity they're all autos. Back in WA I bought my son a diesel manual. What a car! The gearbox was as slick as you like (even though I believe it's the same as a Kombi??) Car was a private import from NZ. He ended up getting it put off the road by the gestapo 'cos he turned up the maximum fuel device to get more performance. He also got a lot more smoke!
$5/$6k?? I doubt it even for a good one. But fix them up and enjoy!

have seen a few for sale up here and ther all around the 4-5k mark but like i said not interested in making money. Like you said i look forward to enjoying the Audi luxury driving exp. that is if i don't have to spend to much to enjoy it. Though i've spent heaps on the golf and it's certaily not luxury though gets the adrenalin pumping.
Cheers to us all who have the pleasure of driving vw/audi cars

Just re-read your post. I`d have a power steer pump, but maybe not for a 100. Do the brake booster lines go through the power steer system, or is it stand alone?

Loon I think it's stand alone but i'll have to have agood look at it as you would know vacum lines are a plenty in this engine bay, shouldn't take long though. Although i havn't the money to get started on the 85 mod yet I'll probably just go and get a kit and reco it but thanks anyhow.
And that alone won't be for a while cause i would like to get my mk1 going with the 16v in it i've done all the work myself. just can't get it going. Have thought it was the module, so might try the module out of the audi as the one i've got is a jaycar unit was using it with the old motor and towards the end it use to breakdown at about 3grand. i'll stop there as i'm just going on about golf in the audi topic.
    sorry
    cheers Dave
