    Ignition key wouldn't turn..........

Got into the van this morning to move it and the key refused to turn.
I figured the most likely was steering lock jammed........wiggled and waggled the stg wheel and made no difference.
Then had horrible thoughts of a very expensive ign swith replacement.

So what do ya do ?
    Ya turn to Google.

Found a report of a similar instance where a flat battery was the issue.
Nothing left on that I was aware of but decided to mcheck the battery anyway.........
    ......... 8.8v,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Charge the battery and all is good again.

Got me a tad confused but I guess it everything shuts down at a particular low voltage.

My problem is solved now other than finding what drained the battery down so low
but hopefully this may help someone with a the same problem.

Further to this possible battery drain............

There is a very slight vibration sensation from the centre dash area around the radio/heater control area.
It feels like a gentle fan running somewhere but as far as I can tell there is nothing running or switched on.
My hearing is crap so I just had my wife out in the van and she tells me there is a 'hum' coming from the floor area around the battery..

    Further investigation required I feel...........

    Hi Lance

the reason why the car is running out of battery can be caused by the air conditioning compressor and auxiliary water pump.

Air/con was not on, and by auxiliary water pump.... do you mean the pump in the motor home area ?
That is run from a separate battery.

    I think I might've found the 'hum'.
This vehicle is a motorhome with an auxiliary battery fitted under the left seat.
I think the hum may have been the dc/dc charger for that battery.

The vibration in the centre dash has disappeared now but was present with no keys in the ignition, so I don't know where anything would have been getting power.
I'll let things go now and see what happens.

Additional water coolant pump number 28 ?
    Didn't realise that was there.

    Thanks again for you time.
Do you have a link to a parts catalog for the 35 ?
