    Why so many Monte Carlo?

Been poring over the car sales sites the last month looking for a Fabia. But why are there so many Monte Carlo for sale? It's not just used cars from 2011/12, but new variants in stock seem to focus on the Monte Carlo - you can get a Fabia quickly if you want a red car with a black roof, but I'm not into racing colours or badging. Does Skoda Australia order these in the hope of turning Aussies into racing fanatics? I'm stumped.

I guess Skoda Aus thought the same would happen here - hence the abundance of used Monte Carlo's now...
