Demand for DSG gearboxes has outstripped supply and lead to a crisis. Audi and VW are definitely pulling rank on Skoda regarding supply priorities.
The result is that DSGs are now not available in Fabias for several European countries until further notice.
At this stage its not permanent, but if demand for the new VW Polo remains really strong, it could be a while before things get back to normal.
I dont think this has affected Australia yet, but it might not be too far away. If your in the market for a model with a DSG you might want to check this out.
However maybe this might be a wake up call for Skoda Australia to give us the six speed manual gearbox. Ive seen people comment that the six speed 85TSI would have swayed them to the Fabia if it had been available.

You never know.
