    Out of warranty repair

Positive response from Skoda Australia when my 4/12 build Superb Elegance 118 tsi started pumping out gearbox fluid a few weeks ago.
Left the car with Thomson Skoda when we went off overseas for a few weeks. Kept in touch with them while away and was confirmed as suspected that mechatronic unit had failed. Dealer presented my service history (mostly third party VW/Audi specialist, some Skoda dealer) to Skoda who responded by agreeing to all costs of parts and labour.
Picked up car on way home from airport yesterday. Got to be happy with that outcome.

Kudos Skoda. I presume it was VW Aus that gave it the green light?

Not sure whether Skoda decisions go up the line to VW or not. My regular service people who specialise in VW/ Audi advised me that VW were pretty good at covering mechatronic units out of warranty so long as service records were complete (not there is actually any servicing done on these units as I understand).
    Certainly pleased with outcome.
