Info system software & map upgrade

An interesting experience over Christmas/New Year. My battery inexplicably failed the morning after I'd driven several hundred kilometres. I called Skoda Assist where the operator had difficulty identifying my car. Once we did with both rego & VIN, she advised me she could see my details & entitlement but it had never been properly registered by the the former Skoda dealer, Trivet in Parramatta. She completed what Trivet didn't. Within 30 minutes, a Global Assist van arrived, did appropriate tests & replaced the battery.

This little episode has had remarkable results: The Skoda App now recognizes my VIN. It now indicates service history. I've received updates. I've even heard from Skoda!!!! The Takata drivers airbag recall was received & the work completed during annual service last week at Thomson Skoda, whose service I highly recommend. One call to Skoda Assist when I first got my 206 in April 2016, would have apparently saved me the frustration of dealing with Skoda Australia Customer Fob-off on numerous occassions.

I downloaded & updated last week too. This time the download only took 4.5 hours, but failed & would not restart at 10.2gb twice. Third time lucky. Install took exactly one hour. Much better than the more than 20 hours to download, last year.

On my Superb Sportline when the infotainment system boots up the screen has welcome to Skoda on it?
On my Wifes Kodiaq sportline it boots with Sportline ?
Any one know if OBD11 can change this?

Should be able to as the VW have several options Have changed it in my Tig
