    What's this button do

    Ok

    White MY09 GTI.

There is a little button just behind the front door on the B pillar (I think) but low down near the back of the drivers seat. I don't know what it does.

Anybody got one of these and can help out?

It temporarily disables the ultrasonic alarm for the car interior when you close the car say to duck out to the milk bar with someone still in the car.

I haven't used it but remember "that's interesting" when the dealer showed me during delivery.

Motion sensors with the alarm/deadbolt/immobiliser security system.
    Turns them on and off.

Last time we went to the DOVW we had 2 GTIs on the boat from Tassie and that is definately when you need to use the motion sensor button as they were raising the platform with the Golfs on it while we were still in the vehicle area and both cars alarms went off!!!
They get set by pressing the buttons on the pillar and only cancel when the car is unlocked again.

    Thank you

So I push the button, then lock the car and the motion sensor is disabled.

Unlock the car go for a drive

Lock the car without pushing the button, and the motion sensor is enabled that time

    Is that right

This is a timely and very useful post - I'm going over on the boat tomorrow night with the GTI.

I'll make sure to press the button before I lock it

Hopefully the crossing won't be too rough, I've done more than my fair share of those.

might even be useful if you lock the car but leave windows/sunroof slightly open - not sure if wind can trigger the motion sensors?
