    Well today I got my 2008 MK5 r32 back.

Had the timing chain done and the camshaft adjuster done.. $4800 pretty sure I got ripped off.

$3250 for the timing chain initially... then a phonecall saying the camshaft adjuster exhaust needs to be replaced to. $1400. doing some research part only goes for like 900 AUD. Feel gutted should have done my research first before telling them go ahead. Won't even be able to enjoy the car now seeing as I spent probably 30% of its value.

    Replaced DMF.
    1.9 TDI DSG with 185000km.
Shifts are smooth as butter, no chatter in P/N or rattle on shutdown.
    Happy days.

Bit quiet in here...No more love for the mk5 it seems!

I still have mine with 170k on the clock and just did a suspension refresh with adjustable tein coilovers, new sway bar ends and Audi TT lower arm bushes. Seems a bit tighter now What did you do to your Mk5 today?

I replaced engine and trans mounts today. Lately there have been a few thumps from 1st to 2nd at low speed and from park to reverse on a cold start.

I cannot believe how worn they were. I had to raise the engine about 2cm get the new mounts close enough to bolt down.

There should be no gap here !

    Trans old vs new.

Similar story on the engine mount.

Time will tell if it fixes the hard shifting.

Did another door lock today. Bought back in July, finally had enough of the intermittent failing to unlock, always worked when using internal handle however.
That is 3 now, just the driver's to go. Do I wait or get in early ??

    They only stretch once.

If you choose to re-use you have to treat them like a normal bolt and use some feel. Alternatively, replace with a generic bolt from the fastener shop and make an educated guess on the correct torque.

@brad yes, this i learned for additional £40,new bracket. What did you do to your Mk5 today?
But now i had this revised version of bracket, on this bottom holes can enter processed nut and dont care anymore for over streching.
