Probably any one between those numbers should work if the end digits are just revisions.
Hi
I have a faulty steering control unit...so I removed it today and part number is 1k0 953 549 8d .....After researching I couldnt find it anywhere..so I called vw parts and provided my vin number..the part that they have registred for my car is 1k0 953 549 bk ...my question is...is there any other ones that can be used? Thx

Prev 2008 R32 3 door DSG.
Prev 2010 S3 Sportback Stronic.
Now Lexus IS350 F Sport
That is correct. Appendix at the end of the number is just the superseded part. As long as you have been quoted via your VIN then there will be no issue
Will BR work? I have been told that br is updated version?
Forgot to say..I have 2008 golf 5 gti manual....will 1k0 953 549 bd work or ahould I just search for BK?
Order what's applicable to your VIN.
The suffix does not always mean a revision

I have been told eather bk, br or cc...so I ordered br..when my mechanic tried programing it..it wouldn't let him choose manuel gearbox...didn't think that could be a problem
Shouldn't matter.

Apparently he can only choose auto gerbox....wouldnt let him click on manuel...was a bit strange. ..but he is an expert in german cars and uses his own diagnostic tool..maybe I shoukd try it with ross tech
It's only for the paddles, which yours won't have.
