    Unusual dash warning light

how’de. I’ve just been on an enthusiastic drive through the Adelaide hills in my mk5 golf gti dsg. I was using manual mode, and the section of the centre dash that tells you what gear you are in started to flash red. Can’t find what it means in the manual and I thought this would be the perfect place to find out. I have a feeling it could be telling me the gearbox is hot but not sure. Thanks in advance for any info.

Some sort of gearbox fault has occured. Get it scanned ASAP. Has the mechatronics unit for the DSG ever been replaced? Any unusual behaviour from the gearbox?

I do not think the mechatronics unit has been replaced. I’m the second owner of the car and have had it for 8 years and I’ve not replaced it. Gear box behaved itself on the drive home. I pulled over and let the car idle for a bit after the flashing stopped. I put it back into D and it drove like it always does. I will definitely get mechanic to scan it and see what’s what. Thanks for the help
