Something strange happened on the MK5...

    Hi guys
I have a DSG jetta TFSI and today whilst driving, something happened
I was driving normally and cruising at about 60km when all of a sudden the revs on my rpm meter climbs from 1.5K to 2,3,4,5....and for a brief second or so I had no drive. After about 1-2 seconds I had drive again after I let my foot off the accelerator.

What could be the problem? I was just in normal D mode. I wasnt using the tiptronic nor was I in S. No flooring or thrashing the car. Just cruising normally. Could it be a DSG glitch or could this be a warning from the car saying the DSG needs a close eye kept on it?

Sounds like it popped the clutch wanting to do sometning.
Just remember to tell them at service time. If it does it again I would book in for a look and code rear.

Did the engine actually rev up or was it just the tacho needle moving?

If the engine was revving and no drive, clearly the DSG had disengaged both clutches, so there is something wrong.

Take it to the dealer and get them to check.

    just an update

I got the dealer to have a look at this issue also

    1) I told them about my battery drain issue and that my car is dead after 3 days of non usage

    2) the brakes squeal when braking

they told me that the reason why my car acted the way it did when I was driving was because of a FORGE dv spacer I had installed. Apparently that was the cause of it? The guy told me he took it off quietly and not told anyone or VW about it because if he did, it would void the warranty on the car.

I just dont understand how a spacer on the car gets the car to react like it did. Anyone have any input?
