    Noisy tyres

My TDI Pacific is very loud on course tarmac. It is on Continentals. Are there quieter tyres out there or do I have to wait till I can manage a Golf 6?

Yet another report of noisy Continentals.

Do yourself a favour and get a set of Yokohama A.Drive R1s. They are far and away the best value tyre I have ever owned (3 sets at last count). Quiet (even on coarse tarmac), sticky, responsive and cheap ($159 F/B for 205/50-16). They are also 91V rated.

If budget allows, Pirelli P Zero is another good option.

My GF changed from Contis to Bridgestone RE001 Adrenalin Potenza.

A lot quieter. She is running 16".

TBH The Contis were OK when new. They got a lot noiser once they wore.

    Cheers, MM

    Hi Reg,

Recently I changed the Contis (205/55/16) on the Jetta after 48,300km to a Dunlop Sport 3000A andf these are very quiet by comparison to the Contis.

In fact the Wife said "Ohh, the car has got sneakers on".

These Dunlops are Aussie made too! Just my two cents worth!

    Cheers,
