The FSI isn't really worth buying - unfortunately if you can't drive a turbocharged car, the GT's, TDI, and GTI aren't options... so you should look at something else entirely![]()
Hey guys im new to this site and would appreciate some info about golfs. I recently got my P's and am now looking to purchase a golf. I basically want to know what the best golf would be (performance wise) to get, keeping in mind i can't drive turbos. I've done some research and at the moment i am leaning towards an FSI, but any opinions and knowlegde you could share with me on this would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldnt say that the FSI isnt worth buying. Its just not a rocket ship is all. Still not embarassingly slow. It would make a sensible daily driver if thats what youre after.
You dont have a lot of options though. Id just steer clear of the 1.6 perhaps.
Thanks for the replies, yeah i was looking into the 2.0 FSI. I want a golf because i find it's a bit more upper class than some of the other options out there, but as i said i would also like something with a bit of ooomph haha. If there are any mods i can look into to improve the engine i'd also give that a go if it was worth the performance increase.
are you restricted from turbo-diesels as well? welcome by the way
i think the tdi's are the go in the golf range..
87' MK2 GTI
13' MK7 TDI
I'm pretty sure im not allowed to drive any sort of turbos unfortunately, correct me if im wrong. I'll look into it for sure haha.
Where are you located?
