You need to scan the car, start with that......
Hi guys,
Last week my car battery went flat. Without proper knowledge, I went ahead to charge it. After charging the car battery, my dash lights have been popping up and going crazy. These include the speedometer, odometer, power steering not working and the ABS and traction control lights on. Also, at times the car would have the P R N D S all flashed/highlighted and I would put it into a gear, however it'd just rev and sometimes whilst driving, the car would randomly downshift or not change gears at all.
I've changed the battery to a new one just yesterday hoping it'd fix the issue, but it's still the same. Would anyone know what's going on? Any inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I have a 2008 MK5 GTI / DSG.

I had it scanned when I took it in for a service recently (after the battery went flat) and it diagnosed the battery as the issue, thus why I changed it.
Clearly it was misdiagnosed than.... You're telling me it was diagnosed as a battery issue, yet it's still not fixed and now you're arguing with me that the battery was the issue.... than why are you making a thread? Just scan the car and post the log here, that way a true professional will be able to help you, none of this guessing stuff.
Had similar when my battery went flat Dealer hooked into it and fixed it in 5 mins after putting a new battery in they just cleared the errors.
My retracting drivers seat played up at the same time but came right after a couple of weeks.
The number of flashes when you bump the turn indicator also changed but was fixed by turning the "comfort" setting back on

Have seen similar, a clear out of the errors should fix it.
