Golf R32 MK5 - Centre drive shaft bearing broken?

    Hi All,

Need some help, i have my car looked at and i have been told that the center drive shaft barring is broken... Does any one know of anyone this happen to before on a golf r32? I know its quite common on a touareg.

The VW dealers dont sell the barring seperately, i have tried to call up a few so called specialist and they cant seem to do anything or dont know volkswagens well... only the holdens and fords.

If there is any information on this please let me know. PART NO:1KO5212201K- from VW got a price of $1,930

I have found a wrecker in sydney that has a complete drive shaft for me for $500- delivered to melbourne.

    - The car is well looked after always serviced on time if not before, and my pride and joy just really want it back on the road.

That is very uncommon on a MK5 R32.

    Is it like this?

Yeah, exactly like that. I called the dealers and there hasn't been a recall that they know of.

Maybe join the Facebook group in my signature and ask mate.

It seems to be a common trait on the series 1 and 2 Touareg's. Is it just the bearing? Why would there be a need to replace the entire driveshaft?

The bearings collapse due to the gator clip coming off at some point and letting the grease out, obviously starts getting hot and eventually fails.

1K0521101J should be the correct part number for the driveshaft.

I did a quick search and the only part number I can come up with for and R32 tailshaft is the one robbie has stated.
I could not find a match for the number that you supplied.
Even doing a google search with the part number you supplied only comes up with this thread.
    MKV Sportsline Soot Belcher
    MKV Jetta FSI DSG
