Golf / Jetta headrest DVD monitors

Guys, I think this has been asked already but I want to fit headrest DVD monitors in my Jetta for my two young sons??? I have the full leather sports electric seats in my Jetta and noticed they're fully stitched so not an easy job to run wires inside the seats (from what I can see)..... has anyone done this or know of a link that I can check on the best way to do it?? it might mean a trip to an upholsterer.......
    Cheers team....

No responses so probably not been done yet.... anyway I just booked mine in to get the DVD headrests put in next weekend.... I was worried about the airbags in the seats etc but the installer said there were no issues there... they've done a Passat, Tiguan and a Toureg all with leather and airbags in the seats so not a worry now.... The crew at Strathfield in Taren Point road will be doing it including colour matching to my leather.... I'll send a full report with pics next week.
7" screens with independent DVD players in each.... games for the kids with remotes.... wireless headphones....

Interested to see how this goes, please give us an update, pics and info on the brand etc. Do they re-use your headrest or is it an all new one?

I remember a time when kids used to just look out the window and the family trip was entertainment enough.

Ope126, I didn't get a look at the brand, reason being as soon as he said "life time warrantee" the brand suddenly became irrelevant...... I did see the laser and key components inside were Sony.
As for price.... the gear was being advertised on the floor for $899 however the deal ended up being $900 installed and colour matched to the VW leather..... Not too bad considering you could buy ebay brands with no warrantee and not coour matched.... at the end of the day this is the better option ie warrantee and if anything does go wrong during install it's not my problem, that's what sold me....
Your other query was utilising the original headrests or installing new ones??...... they are all new mate.... I'm keeping the originals.

Catona.... yes I agree, I'm from NZ and if I had the Jetta there I wouldn't bother as the scenery is quite a bit more interesting..... however this is Aussy and Eucalyptus trees become very boring, very quickly on highways.....

I miss the NZ roads, corners, cambers, ice...............

Just make sure you get screens that are crash safe if their faces get forced into them in a crash .

Here's the link to the units I'm getting.... http://www.optionaudio.com.au/lcd_sc...oa70hrdvdv.php
The latest versions just released have games etc built in too.... The other good part is the leather texture was very close to the VW leather.

Alright, I've had the DVD Headrests installed and would love to post the pics but for some reason the bottom left hand of the page says "you may not post attachments"...... how do I get around this???
