golf 2.0 tdi DSG rough idle, stall when cold???

hi guys my engine is stalling but a little different to the other guy... it happened only twice in the last week... it happens under following condition...

    - first start of the day only when engine is fully cold
    - within the first 3-5 minutes of the first start
    - engine idles going down by 100-200 rpm from time to time
    - stalls in D, may also happen in R, but P/N idle seems ok, just rough idle
    - no smoke
    - runs great after warmed up

what do u think its the problem and how should I tackle it?

Start by having the DSG checked — could be a clutch not releasing properly.

I had that exact problem - turned out to be a fault purge control valve and leaking dipstick which means that the engine wasn't holding the right level of vacuum in the sump.

Once those were fixed (about $365 at a dealer) the car is not only having that problem, but feels considerably up on power and is using less fuel than before.

Yes, this issue has reared it’s head with out MY07 Mk5 tdi DSG also as at 22 Feb 2021. My son now has the car.
It’s just had a major service but when you drive to the service centre the engine is warm so the issue isn’t present unless the car is with the them overnight.
I’ve pm’d “vcreation” but would appreciate an update to this issue if at all possible.
