    Unhappy Flapping noise

I have had my 07 golf now for 6 weeks & whenever I go over a speed bump at a normal speed I get this 'flapping' noise coming from the hachback area inside the car. Today I found out what it is...... In VWs ****ty cheapness thay have done away with the 'rewind' mechanism for the rear shelf 'strings' as in the mark4s & now have this cheap & ****ty way of letting the strings just go thru the shelf & dangle in the boot with a very effective heavy 'donger' thing on the end that happliy swings around in mid air in the luggage area & when you drive over a bump these 'dongers' swing all over the place hitting on the trims in the boot & making this 'flapping' noise.. Not good enough Volkswagen. WHen compared to the mark 4 this is a cheap & ****ty way to do the job... So there ,... Unhappy Bazz.

But, it has a light sensor rear vision mirror!

Maybe this can be a MKV mod - 'the MKIV parcel shelf string recoiler mod'

Wrap the dongers in some thick fabric to dampen them?

Apparently there is also a known fault with the LH rear light....

Had mine in at Austral today, and the service manager says that they replaced 15 or so of them, clicking, rattling noise from the rear (a reflector comes loose problem is the same on all Golfs).

LH side only, which immediately made me say - could you check mine
