    DSG Gearbox Service

I have read other posts said that it costs around $500 to get the DSG service at dealer, does anyone know whats included ? Is that just to replace new gearbox oil or more ? I would do it myself if possible or go to dealer to buy DSG gearbox oil and get Kmart auto to replace it, i have a 2007 Jetta 2.0TSI and only done 35000 kms, so its time to replace new gearbox oil but $500 for me is too expensive, could any member give me some advice please ? Thanks

Ring up Steve at Purely Prestige Automotive in Narre Warren, they are good guys. Got mine done for $350 with genuine VW oil and filter.
I wouldn't trust Kmart Auto to do DSG gearbox mate, they are not as straight forward as normal gearbox.

If you want to do it yourself, you obviously need DSG oil and filter, a special fill kit that uses gravity-fed and you will need to use VAGCOM to calibrate it afterwards.

$500 is cheap including genuine oil and filter, they take around 6-7 litres to be safe on a change and require special process to drain
and refill to correct level, if your paying around $200 or so for labour in that cost i'd say thats fair for someone who know's
    what there doin!!

Not sure how you guys are getting it so cheap with genuine oil?

It costs roughly $260 for 6 litres at my work?

Agreed. I had mine done 6 months ago and it was closer to the $500 mark. Oil alone is very expensive. BJC and others, where did you get yours done?

I think they buy it at trade price. It will only cost you $50/L if you buy it at a VW dealer yourself

Where is that service centre. My last DSG service cost 1300. And then the DSG has started to shudder under light acceleration ever since the service and after 2 days of testing(?) they don't know exactly whats wrong with it. Spewing. Now they want to charge me 3500 for a mechatronic replacement.

$1,300 for a DSG service? Sounds like more than a DSG service to me, my last one was around $400 at a VW dealer.
