    Wheel Help MkV GTI

hi all, my son is in the middle of buying a MkV GTI and he is looking to put some after-market rims on it.

Can anyone advise what the OEM details are, I presume 5x112, 17" but what is the width and offset?

If he wants to go up to 18" or 19", what sort of width and offset should he be targeting?

    The Denver's are 17x7 ET51 and run 225-45/17 tyres.
I am pretty sure there is a wheel thread in the Mk5 section that you could use to see what size is suitable for an upgrade (noting that people have different limits to what is tolerable/legal)

thanks, seems that 235/40 on 18x8 ET45 is a bit popular, but couldnt find a lot on it

That would need some guard work. 8.5 ET 45 would be a better fit...

I've got a set of these if your son is interested

There's some R36 Omanyts for sale on here 18x8 +44 that would be a great fit and look. Give room for a good drop in ride height too

Centre Bore (CB) on the Mk 5 hub is 57.1 I believe those wheels are 66.6 you may require hub rings
