    Buil Quality on MKV's

    Hey Guys,

Had an interesting day yesterday, I went car shopping with a mate who is looking at getting a hot Hatch, we went down to parramatta auto alley to have a look at some euro's (207 GTi, Alfa GTA, Renault R26 and of course VW GTI)....

Well anyway I kept talking up the VW whilst we looked at the other cars, but when we came up to the VW dealership my mate noticed on two GTI's that the bodywork panels werent flush (pretty badly i might add) on the same spot (front section between the drivers side door and bumper).... looked really bad, and my mate gave me **** about how golfs are made in South Africa etc haha...

well on the way back I self conciously went over my car to see any annoying things, but couldnt really find any..

do any of your cars have any of these kind of issues?

maybe it was dinged at the docks or elsewhere and fixed, havent seen that on a GTI before.

As always, you get what you pay for, unless its Italian or French...

the panel fit on my german built MK5 isnt amazing. But I dont really expect perfection in a 40k car. Other than that ive been pretty trouble free.

No noticeable problems on mine (it's a MKV but not a GTI). But I'll have a really close look next time.

Not all Golfs are built in South Africa

The 3dr GTI and R32 range is built in Germany

Compared to what? Way better than the Toyotas I've owned in recent history.

My $40K Golf makes my traded $60k Aussie Ford look like it was made at the local child care centre between naps.

You must have found a few duds. I'm yet to find any sort of flaw!

The Alfa's sure LOOK real nice....wonder how long it will actually run for....
