    Bouncy Boot?

How many attempts does it take to close your boot?

Sometime mine doesn't close the first few times I close it..

Is this a "you've gotta live with it" problem or should I bring it up with the dealer next time?

Probably can be adjusted, sometimes you don't need to slam them. Just a few inches is enough.

    A few inches of what?

Also, that's the problem. If I go in relatively lightly it doesn't click in whereas if I give it a bit more pressure, it works (usually give it more after the 3rd go as i'd rather not slam it unless necessary).

I was meaning that I would expect it to close from a few inches with assistance. Rather than dropping it from half way shut.

Umm I have a Jetta and they have the automatic boot opening mechanism which springs up as soon as the latch is released... (Probably wrong I used the word "tailgate" above )
So you've kinda got to give it some pressure or it'll spring right back up..

Haha thought so.. Well i'm not too sure whether it's an electric problem.. I think the automatic opening is driven by a spring that boosts it up beyond a point, then the hydraulic shots do the rest..
I think i'll let the dealer know next time i'm in.

It could be faulty, maca. Or 'idividual variation'.

Mine clicks closed with the lightest touch.

Hmm oh well, I don't think i'll bring it up with the dealer as it's not major. Like Jettapilot said, it's probably just individual variation

As for the comparison to my old Bora: I miss it heaps (and sometimes miss the manual), especially the sunroof and the sound quality of the stereo. The interior quality was a step up from the Jetta but on the whole i've got nothing to complain about.. And the more I drive it the more I like it!
Miss Jetta is a little champ... The fuel tank never ever ends and the turbo puts a smile on my face everytime it kicks in
