Probably can be adjusted, sometimes you don't need to slam them. Just a few inches is enough.

How many attempts does it take to close your boot?
Sometime mine doesn't close the first few times I close it..
Is this a "you've gotta live with it" problem or should I bring it up with the dealer next time?

I was meaning that I would expect it to close from a few inches with assistance. Rather than dropping it from half way shut.

If its electric and playing up then it's defo a job for VW. I did think you were talking about a hatch or something...

It could be faulty, maca. Or 'idividual variation'.
Mine clicks closed with the lightest touch.
Yes MACA,mine closes as well with the lightest touch.
How doed the Jetta compare to your previous Bora...
Hmm oh well, I don't think i'll bring it up with the dealer as it's not major. Like Jettapilot said, it's probably just individual variation
As for the comparison to my old Bora: I miss it heaps (and sometimes miss the manual), especially the sunroof and the sound quality of the stereo. The interior quality was a step up from the Jetta but on the whole i've got nothing to complain about.. And the more I drive it the more I like it!
Miss Jetta is a little champ... The fuel tank never ever ends and the turbo puts a smile on my face everytime it kicks in![]()
