Thread: Body Kit for GT-Sport???

    Body Kit for GT-Sport???

I been looking for Side Skirts for my GT-Sport and i came across a few overseas websites that sells alot of body kits for GOlf GTi. here are my Questions

    1. Will the GTI/GLI kits i see on a lot web site fit on a GT-Sport? I been told by the Burwin Spare Parts Center that GTI and GT-Sport fits the same Body kits is that true?

    2. Is there anywhere in Melbourne that i can find nice VW parts for Gt-Sport, especially things like Side Skirts, i really like the OEM Side Skirts on a stock GTI.
Burwin dealership said to get the sports side skirts in the VW website cost $2000 not including paint and installation. and i be looking at about $3000+ for part, paint and installation
I know a panel shop in Mitcham who will do the paint and installation for $300, but i need to get the side skirts myself.

    3. have anyone ordered any body kits online? is yes is it cheaper than getting on the dealership after delivery?

    Thanks in advance!

That's outrageous! Have you asked for a price on the OEM Gti skirts? I've got the Gti side skirts and Gti rear bumper on order through my VW dealer, and I'm getting them for a surprisingly good price. The side skirts were $350 and the rear bumper is just under $300.

The salesman is also going to ask the VW paint shop if they will colour code it for me too. Fitting will about $200, and by the time I get it painted I'll probably be about $1500 out of pocket, which is quite reasonable I reckon.

John Hughes Volkswagen in Vic Park.

And 95vr6, the last time I checked, cars with tasteful body kits look MUCH better than those without.... pretty simple really .

Yep I'm in Perth, and I thought the prices were too good to be true, and I keep expecting the salesman to call me up and tell me he made a mistake. It should all be here in a couple of weeks, and I'll know for sure then.

You shouldn't have to drive anywhere, because my side skirts are coming from Sydney anyway. They (spare parts division) should just be able to look on their system and see where these body parts are located, and then order them in for you.

I have the Gti rear bumper on order, and I'm getting it because it has two sections and you can paint the top section and leave the lower bit unpainted (same as R32), and it looks fantastic.

As far as I'm aware, in terms of dimensions, a 5 door Golf is a 5 door Golf, so side skirts and rear bumpers should fit across the range? Obviously some models have different exhaust systems, so that could be an issue with lower spec models, but the GT Sport has the same style twin exhausts as the Gti, so the rear bumper will fit no problems.

I think the front lip on the GT Sport is ok, so I'm going to leave that as is and just get it painted. To finish it off, I plan to have it sitting 20mm lower on some Eibach prokit springs, and maybe (if I win lotto!) some Koni yellow's .

I've noticed that the GT is quite an attractive car at the front as well. I'd just get side skirts to be honest, and paint the other trim.

    yes agreed.
I would most likely only add side skirts and maybe get a gti rear bumper since it looks why better after color coding.
