    Lowered Springs - H&R or Eibach

    Hi guys,

    I'm the proud new owner of a RS Wagon and I'm looking at a few basic mods. One of which that is currently on the table is lowered springs. I've done so searching and it seems most/everyone on here has used the Eibach (20mm lower) springs. For the wagon that's p/n E10-79-004-04-22. I realise this is the part which is a Skoda option/accessory in the UK.

    However there are also the H&R (25mm lower) springs available, H&R have recommended p/n 29261-2 (as opposed to 29261-1). Seems strange, but the same part is for the wagon and the sedan.

    Pricing is much the same.

    Just wondering what other's thoughts are and if there might be a preference of one over the other and why. At the moment I'm considering the H&R springs since they are that bit lower.

    I've had no experience with the H&R springs. I do have Eibach Pro-kit on my wagon - very pleased with it. I wanted not much lower but more progressive and stiffer (I wanted better handling, better load carrying and I didnt want to lose too much suspension travel).

    If you dont do much driving the lower springs are probably OK but with the amount of km I do and the long octy overhangs... I couldnt justify going too low.

    I guess that means I'm actually just saying that the Eibachs are good kit

    I have Eibachs on mine (only for ~1000km so far). I like them but they have highlighted how sad my 105,000km dampers are, so there will be some Koni Yellows going in soon.

    Just to confuse the issue, I have a 1.8TSI M6 sedan & fitted 20mm drop springs for the vRS diesel wagon (already 20mm lower than mine). End result was 30mm drop at front & 10mm drop at rear - which is what I wanted.

    how are you finding the ride with the stock shocks? mines still newish, so they are quite firm still

    its going good still.
    It softens a little bit later, from new, but remains slightly stiffer than stock.
    Being a 20mm drop only, the shocks don't seem to b stressing keeping up.....and down! Hehehe

    Hows the height, in regards to driveways and etc?
