12 Months of Ownership Mk2 MY13 VRS

Decided to give the old girl a late spring clean, and to give a quick rundown on the Octavia VRS...........

Fuel Consumption (average on full tank not computer).

Best: 6.7

Average 7.1

As I live in the country, all consumption figures @ 100 kph (do very little stop/start driving).

Oil Consumption:

First 7500km, 250ml (6 month oil change)

From 7500 to 13450, Nil (12 month oil change)

Faults:

Leaking windscreen, fixed under warranty

Rear centre headrest seized, awaiting parts (to be fixed under warranty)

Tyre Wear, hoping recent 4 wheel alignment will increase tyre life. (need to PM Brad to pick his grey matter on optimised touring alignment)

DSG:

The gearbox/clutch has no signs of jerkiness, hunting for gear and very smooth in operation.

The car is stock standard, just a few nick-knacks from SuperSkoda to jazz things up a little, and OEM rear rubber boot mat, and bonnet sound deader mat. The seats are comfortable but, the driver seat seems to be off centre (left) to the steering wheel which makes me sit slightly to the right on the seat. I have given it a squirt through the black spur and handling was precise with a little bit of under-steer. My next door neighbour has a 2km driveway (private road) and let me use it to run some tests i.e.: brakes, speed, stability etc, and all I can say it's bloody quick to 186 kph...........(cow decided to cross the road) so I had to back off.

Overall I am more than happy with the VRS, and would recommend any potential buyer to take one for a test drive.
