Power window operation from key buttons

    Hi All,

Love my new RS. I'm sure we're going to be very happy together. I'm still going through the manuals and getting used to things. My wife bought a Golf VI Comfortline TDI last year, and while there are a lot of familiar bits and similarities there are also some things quite different.

One thing someone might be able to advise on is the operation of the power windows via the key buttons. On the Golf you hold the lock/unlock buttons down and all of the windows close/open. On the Skoda I can only lower the driver's door window via the key unlock button.

The manual says it should operate the same as the Golf, but I can't get it to do so. The book also says that I can close the sunroof via the locking button on the key.

So in summary here's what's going on,

    - I can open only the driver's door window by holding the unlock button down
    - I can close all windows and the sunroof when I hold the lock button down.

And yes, the window deactivation button on the drivers door is positioned to enable all windows to be operated at the doors.

It's not much of an issue with winter coming on, but I'd like to get it sorted out none the less. On a hot summer day it's great to crank all the windows down before getting into the car. The reduction in internal temperature is huge and immediate.

    Any help appreciated, as always.

There will be a setting in the MFD/display in the dash set to drivers door and not "all" change that and it will open all

have a look in your settings on your maxidot. I believe there is a feature on there for single window or all window function. Mine works, hold unlock and they all eventually come down.

    woofy & dru,

One thing I was almost certain of was that the fault was due to Operator Error. I've changed the setting and problem solved. Another case of easy when you know how.

Like I said, I'm still getting used to things. It wouldn't have thought it a major addition to the printing costs to insert a line in the "Window convenience operation" section of the manual about selecting "All" or "Driver" in the MFD settings.

Thanks a lot for the help.

I found that one while resetting the window operation. It has been set to Off. It would do my head in if its anything like the wiper sensor auto-operation.

the "rain auto-close" function is awesome.

if u leave windows slightly, or completely open, cause its friggin hot, lock the car & walk away - u have nothing to worry about if it starts suddenly/unexpectedly raining! cause the rain sensor will detect the rain & immediately close all windows.
    u don't have to do a thing

just make sure its activated via maxidot, and set the wiper stalk to position "1" (auto speed).

Speaking of Mazda 3 how poor are the wiper speed settings. There either too slow or flat out. How about some intermittent speeds. Sorry just had to rant. It annoys me everytime I drive one in the rain.

All the "auto" stuff I love. Very few problems of false triggers etc.
... auto lights, auto wipers, auto rear-view tint, auto audio mute, auto dash lights when driving into the sun, flat tyre warning,
Now, if it'd just do the auto-body-wash and auto-loan-repayments I'd be in 7th heaven
