That's not true.
Given that two cars are virtually identical (mileage, condition, colour, service history) the one with the leather trim and sunroof and better stereo will always be worth more than the one with the lower spec items. What a vehicle is worth as a trade in or second hand is a direct reflection of how saleable it is and cars with options are always more saleable.
One of the biggest determinates is colour.. So steer clear of yellow :) Nice conservative metallics.
Leather I will pay... sunroof is like a pool. Some people may want it but others it will rule the car out. We are not a country of sunroof lovers. Most cars come with a half decent stereo so for most people that is not a sale clincher on a secondhand vehicle.
Of course the other factor is alloywheels. Factory alloys to be specific.
