Regarding tech pack I would assume you can order it in a factory order now with a price to be adjusted on delivery. It certainly won't be built before week 22 with the current lead times. I am visiting the dealer on Monday for a test so will ask.

Was just looking over at BriSkoda. The Pommies are being quoted 5-8 monthsdelivery depending on which options they choose. Their options list is a lot longer than ours - Winter pack, Simply Clever Pack(s), etc so maybe that's an issue.
They're being quoted big waits, but actual wait time for orders is dropping and things should get better with Skoda upping production of the RS.Quote:

Don't quote me on this, but I hear very late 2013/2014 UK spec Octavias and Golfs let you connect your iPhone direct with a normal apple usb cable. No BT audio only stuff. Haven't had a chance to test it on any RS' here, not sure they're late enough (They're saying they have the be built after week 50/2013)[/QUOTE]
I tested an RS on Monday. Bluetooth to Iphone voice activated calls via steering wheel button worked flawlessly. It would bring up call options for a contact on the Multi Dot info screen and the 8" Sat Nav. Calls were clear. Is that not how previous Octavias would behave?

None of the current Golfs work with iPods/iPhones via USB, the port will only charge them. In a current AU-spec Golf 7 it's BT Audio, SD, or USB sticks.
I've just tested a Octavia RS with the Columbus/Discover Pro (standard, of course) with an iPhone 4 plugged into the USB port using a normal 30-pin sync cable and it worked flawlessly. Album artwork, Apple Lossless (ALAC) support, full track selection (Playlists, Artists etc.) and the smoothness of the system is phenomenal, none of the delays as with the old rns510 + MDI or the Discover Nav in the Golf 7. Voice operation also works (a dealer install option in the Golf 7!). Fantastic system...
