Received a call from the dealership this morning - my car is there! Looks like Friday I'll be taking delivery if everything is sorted out quickly for my lease.
Looking forward to it.
Ditto, although mine is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, if Scott was your point of contact then it may be pushed forward. Enjoy the trip back home.
I'm about to get mine, but there's been a snag where the dealership was originally going to deliver my vehicle to my town, (200km round trip from dealership) but now they are saying they can't and don't know when they will be able to. So they are saying if I come to them then they will give me a full tank of gas, carpet mats and cargo mat to make up for it.
I was wondering, were these things the dealer gave you anyway?
(note I've deliberately left the location details out for now as I don't see a need to rag on these guys, yet)
I'm pretty sure carpet mats are standard.. I bought the rubber ones so maybe ask for them instead. There is also a reversible (carpet/plastic) boot mat which according to the brochure I have is standard on all models.
What nickd mentioned is correct. Maybe ask for rubber matts and mud flaps if you already don't have them. Most dealers give a full tank of fuel. IMO you're not really getting anything at all from what the dealer has proposed.
full tank of fuel should be standard. OTOH 200km will only be 20L tops so ask them for a $50 - $100 Coles (or whatever) gift card to buy more fuel.
carpet mats are standard in the vRS & not worth that much for the other cars. ($100/set???)
Yeah that's what I thought. Cheers
Edit, Spoke to them and they offered to deliver next week if we could wait, well after talking to the better half she wouldn't mind making a day trip out of it so we're taking a train down and driving back and I'll have my Octavia this weekend.
I picked up my TSI RS Combi last week and it's been an awesome drive. Love the panaromic sunroof and the sense of space it gives to the car.
Fuel economy has been awesome for a new car with less than a 1000kms. Been averaging around 8.5L/100kms based on the onboard computer which isn't far off the Focus ST we are looking to sell.
Used the heated seats (we have the comfort pack) a few times with the cold nights and mornings in Melbourne.
There was a buzzing sound somewhere in the pillar behind the driver when I was doing a 3 point turn but not too worried for now.
Friends have been very impressed with the car and comparing against a friends 3 series wagon, the RS is very good value.
