A 5 minute Google session found the vendor - it's only 75 GBP - I'm going to have to get one!

I will be interested to see how they go. Please report back after you have used it for a month or so. They have never been a success commercially ever since Nissan first put one into a Skyline back in the early 1990s. BMW have repeatedly tried to introduce them and subsequently quietly let them slip.

Except they have now been in use since at least 2008 in various BMWs.

Hit a snag with the 360 Infinte unit - the OBDII plug is not usable due to cable coming out sideways
There are a few ways around this - I'll put it aside for now and come back to it later

It was the S13/S14 Silvia, not the Skyline. 240SXs in the US got them too AFAIK.

Altima, Avenir all had HUD options.

^ I recall them being in Skylines, from the cars you are mentioning there, you are thinking of sports models. When Skylines last here properly they were S&^Tboxes selling alongside Falcons and Commodores, we never saw the likes of the GTRs etc here back then. It was the everyday models that tried the HUDs with Nissan. The Bluebirds had an HUD as well, I remember seeing the ads on TV.

I qualify the S*&*box comment with the knowledge that my Dads company had a fleet of the last run of them as a company cars and they struggled to sell them due to all the issues and I recall them sitting around unloved for quite a while in the carpark broken down.

I think they were very basic, only showing speed.

Correct. In Australia it was the last model Bluebird (the front wheel drive version after the Pintara) that had the HU display in the SSS model. I forgot that they brought the Bluebird back here for a last hurrah.

    This one (picture from Google)

here is the best display pic I could find
