    All up in my Grille!!!

I discovered this whilst washing my car at the weekend. Some a-hole has attempted to remove the grille from the front of my RS. They have completely bent the metal base plate, which now rubs against the bumper; which is also damaged from the implement they used to lever the grille.
All I can say is that they are incredibly lucky I didn't catch them in the act...

That really sucks. I wonder why though... do kids these days really aspire to have a Skoda grille hanging in their bedroom?

I'm not sure where it happened, most likely in a shopping centre. Hopefully they wont attempt it again after discovering that Skoda knows how to screw their cars together!

$73.00 for a new grille base plate which was in stock at Trivett. Now just have to drill the pop rivets out and fit the new one...

The grille is not damaged, just the black metal base plate. Took about 30 mins to fit the new one. Not sure why Skoda uses pop rivets to secure it, you can't get the back of the rivets out of the inside of the bonnet once they have been drilled out! Rattle city!

In Melbourne there has been a spate of the plastic overs that go over roof rack mounts on many Japanese cars being stolen.
My daughter had two taken from her Suzuki and the dealer said that they had had a huge run on them from all makes. These things go in cycles it will be something else in a couple of months.
