19" wheels. Any probelms fitting them? Need any modifications?

So is there any problem fitting 19" wheels to an RS wagon?
    Any modifications required?

What about if I lower it with my new Eibach springs?

    Does anything rub?

    Thanks

St George are doing them for $200 a corner (fitted and balanced) on special but only have 2 left. They grabbed another two from somewhere nearby for $250 so I'm getting a set of 4 fitted for $900. Not quite the $800 I could have got if I got organised yesterday but that'll do just fine!

diameter of the wheels wont really make a different in relation to if they will fit or not
tyre size, width, offset are the factors that need to be looked at

Mine runs 19x8.5 +45 with 215/35r19..... I wanted to run 225's but with how low mine is I had to run 215's.

Tigger - the rear is more of a problem than the front

The Golf GTI guys run 19/8.5 ET35 - they pull the wheel into the strut for two reasons
To avoid rubbing (they have less clearance than us and normally run the car lower than us)
For suspension geometry - any 8.5" wide rim with a ET45 offset has added one inch all on the outside of the wheel - not good

If you are going to run 8.5" wide rims I think it's best to use an ET35 offset

I think you've got it all back-to-front. ET35 gives more outward poke than ET45.

Indeed - this confusion has already been resolved below...

Bad habit of mine - I read until I want to comment & don't bother looking further to see if the issue has been addressed
