Hey guys, bought another 1975 Passat TS. Was first notified of it on Wednesday when I saw the link on this forum. Called the guy 9.30 am in the morning, got at his place at 10am, made a done deal at 10.30am. Pretty darn happy with it.

Rust is at a minimum, however the boot lid is rusted, but acquired a 98% rust free boot lid thanks to Nick_80. Little bit of rust under the rear quarter panel. Other than that the car is pretty darn straight rust free. Needs a definite respray as the paint on the roof has pretty much faded away and cracks in the paint are everywhere. And the dash is.....well......its a B1 passat dash doesnt require much imagination......cracked everywhere and the carpet on top of the dash has been glued down on by what looks to be industrial strength glue. The previous owner also put a type of anti cracking resin on it which I think over time gave it a "crocodile skin" like feeling on the dash which isn't pleasant.

The mechanical side is another story, steering is like wrestling Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime, The engine runs not too bad, changing gears is abit "sloppy", Brakes are rubbish, has a sports exhaust system which I'm going to weld in more mufflers since its way too loud for my liking and doesn't sound that great and brings too much attention.

The interior is pretty decent for now. Seats are in OK condition and quite comfy as the TS came out with Recaro style seats. The back seat is in good condition but got an even better one from my Passat LS which is the most comfortable Thing I have sat on.

Driving down the highway I noticed that the speedo metre shows an additional 10-20 km/h on it, So while the speedo said 90 or 100 km/h I was actually doing only 80 km/h (which explains why sooo many people overtook me).

Plan is to upgrade to Mk 3 golf brakes all round which will solve my brake issue, and basically do a full resto. This car is going to be used as my DD so I want to resolve all mechanical issues ASAP. I've got a donor car (my LS) which makes life so much easier in regard to the little things.
