got some but need to get new post install... wanted to wait for the ECU to adjust
Good on you for having a stab, with regards to the oil filter, all you need to do is cut up an old oil container and make a deflector, you can custom it anyway you want, believe me i do mobile servicing and many prestige cars have many prestige driveways, last thing i want is oil all over the place.
Jmac
Also a thick shinny desposible floor mat makes a cool oil defector!!.............VW...........
alright, for those who are interested, here is an update on my car. got my car back yesterday all fixed with a replacement gearbox (apart from new clutch which i cannot afford :duh:). big thanks to guys at Camden GTI. the problem was indeed the one i suspected on the previous page (http://bwperformance.com/blog/vw-02m...ft-fork-issues). the fork between first and second that broke off. however in my case it was worse than that, it not only broke off but it also went through the gears and broke the teeth. the gearbox was completely seized and was a nightmare to take out, as EVERYTHING had to come off.
now the bill is, no other word for this, MASSIVE. i still owe some to matt, as i forgot where i planted that money tree... I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else on here.
my advise to other 4motion owners not to rush when changing from first to second.
Unlucky mate, I ever so closely avoided a full head rebuild on my 206 after it started making a noise, that would've cost me $3k and I was crapping myself that it'd come to that.
Keep the car for a few more years and it'll pay itself off.
Dam cars can't stay healthy all the time
Yev, thanks for this update. Just out of interest, did you have any short shift or shift bushes installed?
VW TECHIES out there... Would these either contribute or prevent this from happening?
