On my old VR6 I had this problem, though not 16L/100km!!!
Would take a long time to get up to temp and sometimes didn't and would use around 10L/100km, changed the thermostat and it now gets up to temp in a couple of minutes and avg. fuel consumption is in the 7's.
As for the code for the cd player, you would need to find the code specific for your cd player, perhaps found in your owners manual somewhere? You will have to enter this code whenever the battery is disconnected or goes flat. That said, someone on here may know a way around it...
