So nothing big, but just getting ready for fitted friday at the end of the month at eastern creek

so my car was backfiring like absolute crazy couldn't figure it out thought it could of been fuel pump or coilpack, but the only one that made sense was my spark plugs as it would backfire under load and acceleration and i would loose power straight away.

so went and bought some new plugs and this is what i found !!!

Looks like they haven't been changed in forever

Sorry for out of focus but this is it next to the new ones

chucked them in and all is good now no more backfiring and misfires of the cylinders under load !!!

i have lost motivation to finish my wheels but my Beautiful Girlfriend Ellie has said she wants to help sand them down and get them ready for paint and prep !!!
she's awesome so thanks to her they will actually get finish

also getting the centre bores for the spacers bored out as i bought them from a 5x100 celica, so the needs to be bored out to 57.3 in diameter

    Til next time happy scraping

also forgot to mention, so same night i fixed the sparks i went for a quick test drive to make sure all was good and then i was going about 100+km/ph (stupid i know but oh well, i won't be going fast down this road ever again) down a backstreet in my area and i took a chunk of the road out with my sump and subframe all is good on the car no cracks in the sump ( good old 12v mk3 vr6 steel sumps, soon hard to break them !!! ) and the subframe wellllllll its holding up, but might get a refreshed subframe sometime this year haha

sparks flew everywhere wish i had a camera for it was cool to see tbh haha then the shock settled in and i stopped to check if everything was ok, and not a single leak or broken anything

Alright soon quick wheel update on the Rays VolkRacing CV Pros

my Beautiful Girlfriend Ellie knew that my motivation to finish these wheels was extremely low so she has been over every night this weekend helping me sand them back so i can spray them with a filler primer and then get them ready and closer to paint.

as the wheels had paint stripper on them at some point and the original owners of the wheels had done ****ty paint jobs the paint had lots of bumps cracks and other **** that makes them look cheap, so this is where I'm up to

Ignore the **** in the garage, my house is currently under renovations so theres crap everywhere haha

Paint stripped and sanded back to bare metal

    First coat down

In the background i have the dart board, defyallodds banner and my Bora to do list

    Second coat down

So i haven't taken photos of the 3rd and 4th coat on both Centres that were down to bare metal

and the ones with the paint left on them is currently like this

Sanded down and almost ready to get filler primed

so til next time happy scraping

    Update

So first off i got down to changing the Headlight covers to new Plastic ones

    Old headlights

Looks Rad without the front bar !! IMO

    Front bar without the lip
    VDUBBN

then my Girlfriend came to visit when i was half way through doing them

Makes the difference and totally updates the look

then the other night started with polishing the Lips

Then i started the painting of the centres, tbh theres a lot of imperfections but what can you do when you're on a tight student budget, so this is how they've turned out

    First light coat

    then a few coats later

Played some darts whilst waiting for the paint to dry

Getting some stuff done on the list finally

Then painted one of the other centres

then put a clear coat on both centres

Then quickly put the bolts around with one of the more polished Lips
still need to drill the lips centres and barrels out so the Hardware fits

Put the "waffles" in and centre cap
probably won't run them as i only have 3

To be completely honest I'm pretty happy with the result I've gotten for a home job and the first time I've rebuilt wheels
not completely professional and they aren't the best and i can say that but I'm happy with what I've got, now to finish the lips and paint the last 2 centres drill it all out and then mount the tires up and finish then get the spacers bored out and then mount up onto the car !!

So i stayed up til about 12am last night to finish the wheels
    well almost finish them

so i drilled all the centres 3 lips and 2 barrels out so that the hardware would fit
then i painted the last 2 centres and got a clear coat onto them

then i finished polishing the lips and now this is where we are at !!!

the spacers are being bored out to 57.1 in diameter which is the right size for my 4mo i hope haha
and then getting longer lugs and hub rings so the wheels sit on safely and won't fall off on the way to the show on friday

My house is currently being renovated hence the bricks and other **** in the garage as the wall is being taken out

Denis the speed drill and my old MK1 seat

metal shavings from drilling everything out

And this is how they will all sit like

Lips polished as best i could on a tight time limit and tight budget

    Til next time Happy Scraping

Looks awesome man! I've got a Bora too and going to start doing a few things to it. Unfortunately Bora took the back burner when i went off travelling. :/ I'm thinking of doing some similar things
