MKIV Value?

I paid $12,000 for my 1999 black GTI, with only 92,XXXkms. Here in adelaide there are a few GTi's for sale, mainly silver. But I always wanted a black one. The other black ones I found were around $14 - $15,XXX with average 150,XXXkms or so. I got a full RAA check on the car and nothing is wrong other than mine needs a service (booked for next week) so I'm not fussed, and I'm happy.
As long as your happy, thats all that counts.

Absolutely. Mods are an individual taste thing - it's rare that people agree so completely on a set of mods that they both see equal value in them.

I doubt it - mods rarely add value to a car at the time of resale. You'd probably do better to take the car back to stock as best you can and sell the mods off as individual items.

As an example, there's no way the rims on my Bora at present will add $1,000 to the resale value of the car - but I could easily throw stock rims back on it, get no less money for the sale, and then sell the rims for $1,000 separately. The same goes for my R32 brake setup, the air intake snorkel mod, the blue haldex, the rear strut brace, R32 steering wheel, coilovers...

I could not agree more.

depending the person who is buying it. When I sold my Silvia, the only things I made some money on were the Coilover setup and brakes.
It all also depends on what has been done too
