    Question Mirror switch, strange behaviour

The Bora I am picking up this evening has a quirky problem with the electric mirrors, when the switch is set to L all is fine, the left mirror can be adjusted, however with the switch set to R both mirrors move at the same time!!

I am guessing it is just the selector switch.

Anyone heard of this? Is it likely to just be the switch?

    Thanks,

    Adam

Mine does this. I think the idea is that you just adjust the right mirror first and hopefully the left mirror goes the the right place to compensate. It is a bit like a memory thing. I had to get used to it. But basically when I jump in after my much shorter wife has been driving I adjust the drivers mirror to the right place and then I only have to change the passenger side a little bit to get it in the right place.

Ah! I will check later whether the way the passenger mirror moves is in any way logical to the position of the drivers mirror. So either this is normal behaviour or we both have the same fault!

yes its meant to do that, when i first bought my car I reported it as a fault but was told its designed that way so theoretically you only have to do one adjustment when switching drivers

Cool! Thanks for the confirmation, that has saved me ripping it out to see what is wrong with it! The funniest thing is that the guy selling also thought that this was a fault and so it helped with my price negotiation!!

    Yes that is correct behaviour.
Adjust the right then the left, all is good.
