does anyone have any experience with chipping an R32? There is a way of getting 200kw out of it and thats what i want, just don't know how
I don't think you would be able to get 200kw out of a chip you would ome close but I don't think 200kw.
Being said that there is a guy on vortex Aussie Jimmy that has something like 150kw at the wheels but thats with cam port work and chip, alot more work than just a chip.
Maybe if you went stand alone you would have a better chance:?
im talking 200kw at the flywheel. There was an R32 for sale on carsales.com.au and owner was a member here, but he got the car like that, the previous owner has done it.
There is also an APR chip that brings the MK5 R32 to 198kw. Can i use that on mine since the engines are the same?
Chipping an N/A car bring minimal gains... As all the tuners will and can do is play with the timing and injector cycles in trying to get more go. There is nowhere to get more torque from...
putting a turbo on a N/A designed car is asking for trouble as the compression ratios are lower on a turbo ( to avoid detonation ) and higher on a N/A.
N/A + turbo will have a very retarded timing due to the knock sensor picking up detonation so in the end the gains are limited a bit compared to the factory designed turbo car. Plus the valve springs, rings and pistons are weaker, Camshaft design is different.
Moral of the story: if you bought a R32, enjoy it for what it is, don't spend your hard earned money ( or not ! ) on a chip.
LOL you almost sound like you know what you are talking about, have a look at the US forums and see how many r32s have been turbo'd or supercharged for that fact.
Balkanac, you can't use that cause of the chip being suited for a mk5 ECU.
But with cam work, porting, exhaust, intake and chip you will hit that!
