Have you checked the vin?? Ring a volkswagen dealership with the vin and find out if it's an import simple. They should also be able to check PR codes and tell you what's stock and what's not.

My 2 cents is that all dealers all use the same valuing guide, and if a dealer is selling a car cheap it is for a reason.
I would leave it and look for another car.

You really want to do your homework on this. A lot of insurance companies will not insure Grey Imports, or those that do charge a higher premium.
Why would you insure beyond TPPFT on a $6k "performance" vehicle. The premium (even if not a grey import) will be around $1500pa. If you can't afford to self insure on $6k then aim for something cheaperQuote:
