My only comment on the V5, is that they are hard to tune up, if you are going to go down that line in the future.

The only other choice is the 4-motion which is a fair jump in money.

Anything that is an issue on a MK4 Golf could appear on a Bora, so front wishbone bushes, rear axle bushes etc.

With the V6 4 motion knocking on $15K these days you'd be stupid to buy anything less imo...

edit that's also a whole hunk of car for a V5 n/a 2.3 to be hauling around

    Thanks Guys,

    Robin,

Don't you think that a v6 4motion is a fairly large leap in ownership costs as well??

Not really V5 is poor on fuel just like the V6. The difference in servicing costs will be negligable and the insurance costs would be what 30c more a day?

I have had my V6 for just under a year, and I am still loving it like day 1.

Having said that, I never took a V5 for a drive so I cant tell you how much better/worse the V6 is in comparison.

I would consider a Bora very seriously.
The Golf 4/Bora,as well as the Golf 5/Jetta,have just been named the safest used cars on the Australian and New Zealand market, according to The Herald Sun in Melbourne yestorday.
