Ah but what is my "current data"? If I swap the ECU and Cluster, wouldn't it be easier to just do the barrell and ignition module as well?
How'd you go with your swap Ian? Did you swap the ECU as well?

I just thought getting to the barrell was difficult and then switching it is a delicate task?
I’ve swappwd the ECU (me7.5 > 7.1.1), harness and engine. Everything coded to match. Works a treat.
Progress has been slow over the past months but FINALLY ready to pull the donk out. Images are mainly for my own reference for later on when I go to humpty dumpty this thing back together.
Step 1. Get the front off, CHECK! Accident took care of that.

Many hours later mucking around trying to work out how to jack it up safely, a hazard of living on hill and doing this on the grass. As you can see the drop across a 1-1.5m is a good 50mm... It was pretty sketchy at time.

Started assessing the damage. Few little things broken but nothing major.
Attachment 35490
Bracket for air pump, air pump was cracked at the mounting point as well.
Attachment 35491
Oil cooler, dented
Attachment 35492
hi/low A/C compressor lines were completely busted up. Which saved me from degassing the system a small win.
Attachment 35493
Started disconnecting all the coolant lines.

return lines at the rear of engine, on both sides.

And this little bugger for the secondary coolant pump.
Fuel lines, disconnected and sealed.
Attachment 35498
unbolted downpipes.
Attachment 35499
cable ends for the gear selectors and speedo sensor.

clamped and disconnect clutch bleeder assembly
Attachment 35502
driveshafts out
Attachment 35503
unbolted propshaft. Massive PITA, access is just insanely small.
Attachment 35504
removed dogbone mount
Attachment 35505
cowl panel, the wiper arms were an absolute motherf^#%er to remove.
Attachment 35506
ECU out
Attachment 35507
Bagged and tagged the lot.

And lastly. Decided to put the bar rio up to take a better look at the impact on the rails.
Attachment 35509
RH rail is out but it's nothing major, just looks bad from this angle because the mounting plate is all bent up. But the LH could be out a little as well although I couldn't see damage to it, the bar rio should sit flush.. And because of the angle of impact it is possible it's pushed both rails across a couple of mils.

Pickup a hoist over the long weekend, next strap it and yank that bugger out. Then off to the repair to square this all up.
And sadly this is how I've been moving it around my yard for the past couple of months. One smashed MK4 towing another....

I had to use penetrating oil on my wiper bolts to get them off the first time, such a pain.
Edit: you might have experienced this already, but be careful with the cowl off, I had mine off for about a week outside, dust and a couple leaves got in the channel it clips into and I had to clean it all up before the cowl would press back in.
