    am i able to take a o2 sensor from my dads bora mk4 v5 and place it in my golf mk4 1.6L? or do i need a to get a replacement? how bout a universal o2 sensor?

    Other than the scan results, what problems do you have ?
    Have you reset the faults, do they come back?

    just get a new one rather then trying to swap it over.
    from memory genuine ones arent too expensive?

    I do prefer genuine, but it is quite expensive i think, vw quoted $300 for a sensor for a golf mkv. I was just curious to know if the sensors are compatible with all types of engines...

    as the fault is the heater circuit in the sensor then defo you will need a new sensor.. only get a gen vw one and dont try a used.. more than likely it will be stuffed... if the fault was NOT heater circuit but a mixture issue then you would be looking for air leaks etc first.... bang a sensor on it mate..VDUB...

    Sensor cost me $100 for NGK brand last year.

    Unfortunately they dont have any precat in stock gave vw dealers a ring and got quoted $270. know of any other companies that may have some?
