    water pump and cambelt service

    hey guys just wondering how much i should be looking at to do these changes to my 02 Golf..
    i called up a few dealers they all say its an extra 1000 on top of the service is that right?

    and if anyone can suggest anywhere else to go..

    Yeah, it's about the going rate.

    Anyone in the know wont just replace the belt on it's own. They'll do the tensioner and idler pulleys as well.

    Ring some of the independant places down your way as well.

    I got mine done 2 weeks ago and cost me $740 all up

    Did mine 2 weeks ago at Prestige & Performance at Coorparoo, cost me $840 and included the following:

    - oil filter
    - sump plug
    - wynns service additive pack
    - timing belt kit
    - water pump
    - coolant (flush)
    - standard service + labour
    - brake fluid flush
