    Mk IV Keyfob Range Issues

Welcome all, I am a new member of this forum and an ethusastic Golf Mk IV Sport owner.

I have an odd problem with one of my keyfobs. Even though I have changed the battery I have to stand righ next door to my car to get it to lock and unlock, my other keyfob is fine. I have also tried other batteries, to no avail.

If anyone has had this problem and has solved it, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Other than this and a few minor issues, the car has been great!

    Thumbs up

This will sound strange but take out the battery like the guys have mentioned and clean the contacts. TUrn the battery upside down and fit it the wrong way round. This reverses the polarity and de energises the key. Then refit properly. That sometimes work otherwise you are up for a key made as the RF signal may be too low and im afraid there is nothing you can do about that.
    Good luck

    Fixed!

I cleaned the contacts and made sure the contacts connected firmly to the battery. I also did the reverse polarity thing and... it's all working again. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it.
