What have you done to your VWCV today??

Might as well get it started here too. Had a fellow members T4 diesel over to have some work done, pump belt, pump timing etc. So thought whilst i was on a roll i would do some long overdue work to my workhorse. New RDA discs and REMSA pads all round courtesy of GSL RallySport. Even treated her to some Martini brake fluid. I know she is no racer but she is bloody heavy full of gear and i want it to stop. It doesnt know whats hit it, brakes are really good. Be good to see how the Quality european Remsas hold up with the weight and heavy braking with regards to dust. Other day it was getting a bit steamy in the cabin so i thought i would spark the AC into life, nice and cold but 10 mins later the coolant light comes on yep the fan cut into the top rad hose. So seeing as it isnt busted from being perished , ive spliced and fitted a joiner, and bled with fresh G12 plus. Treated it to a new Continental Cam belt and Tensioner, and a new Serpentine belt tensioner. I think its in shock.

Made and fitted an aircon screen out of some clear plastic sheeting I had after getting the aircon regassed for summer.

Pleased to be able to do it out of odds and ends I already had in. Hung on curtain wire at the top and used fridge magnets glued to the plastic at the bottom to hold onto the back of the step. Not the best looking exercise but it's just a prototype and it keeps the cold in the cabin for now.

Got to organise a portion of rackong for my parts, been looking on ebay, crap really and the van guys are way too dear. Ill post a couple of pics see if i can spark a couple of ideas

Washed, polished and waxed the bad boy last weekend. Looks great. Except it got covered in light dust and a sprinkle of rain has stuck it all to it today. No matter a good rinse and it'll come straight off. Next up is doing the interior for a weeeeeeeeeeell overdue vacuum and detail. It's starting to look like a bloody farm ute inside!

Do you recommend Redline for most gearboxes? I've been considering it for the Caddy.. I know it's expensive but considering i've had it back under warranty and they had to replace all the synchros and 3rd and 4th gear balk rings (i'm kind to gearboxes, it was a fault-recall code 35a7), i want to get some good life out of it.

Would running another GB oil void the warranty? I'm considering the extended warranty too....
