    Temperature warning light .

2005 T5 2.0 petrol last couple of weeks the very first time in the morning when the engine is started a few seconds later the water temp / water level light comes on . Turn off and restart it will do it again third time and its fine for the rest of the day until next morning . Only when its dead cold first thing in the morning , water level is fine has not dropped in months . Any clues please .

My mk2 golf would flash coolant light, turned out to be the ground to the clocks under dash, so it could be a ground issue. Id also check battery voltage

I could have written this post. Our 2005 T5 TDI had the exact problem. Turned it was the sensor in the header tank that was faulty. Replaced header tank and *touch wood* no problem since.
