    T5 Transporter ABS ECU Questions

    Hi everyone.

I have a failed ABS ECU in my 2007 T5 2.0L (AXA) part number for the pump is 7H0 614 117.

This is a bit of a budget resto so looking for once second hand can't find any on eBay or at local wreckers. A few on eBay whilst having a different part number for the pump (Such as 7H0 614 111) they have the same ECU part number as mine 7H0 907 379.

The last letter is different in a few listings, but from my understanding these are supersessions not completely different ECU's

I understand they will need coding to the vehicle, but has anyone ever bought a used modulator and taken just the ECU off.

I am assuming my pump is good and its just the ECU is bad.

I was just browsing a site in the UK that specialises in rebuilding them , but I doubt it is worthwhile send the old one to the UK due to freight and time . They do say if you send one it will be returned with original coding so no need to reprogram anything , they only reprogram them if your original pump has an issue .7H0614117A / 10.0212-0019.4 - Volkswagen TRANSPORTER - ABS

    Thanks for the response.

I've been in touch with a couple of local ECU rebuilders. One has said yes they can do it for $1100. The other said no, some parts in that system are not repairable and some parts are no longer made. Still waiting on a response from another

Now I'm not sure if I believe the first rebuilders.

I found a listing for a new old stock one matching part numbers in Germany for about $2000, but interestingly they say in the listing it is also compatible with part number 7H0 907 379 P, which matches up to another thread i read i think on a different forum where someone with the same part number as me was told by a VW dealer that the P part number is also applicable.

I have found a ECU ending with N for only around $130 so kind of tempted to order that and see what happens when i try and code it in. Almost feel like its worth the risk. Could always re sell it if it isn't compatible with my van

I just got in touch with that company. Seems like a pretty good deal. They can hopefully repair it for the same price as a used one for sale. Shipping will probably be a bit pricey, but probably better off knowing you have a good as new one than a second hand one which could last another year
